At middle distance ranges (where field of view is ultimately more important than magnification) the Armasight by FLIR Nemesis 4X Night Vision rifle scope strikes just the right balance between the two. Small on dimensions, but big on value – the Nemesis 4X will not unbalance your rifle; it mounts on an adjustable mount that will fit weaver or Picatinny rails, and can be mounted in seconds without tools.
The Nemesis 4X has multicoated all-glass lenses and an internally adjustable fine reticle that makes precise shot placement incredibly easy. This night vision riflescope is also water, dust and sand proof for increased reliability. Complete with tactical rails for lasers or illuminators (high power IR illuminator included as standard), the Armasight by FLIR Nemesis 4X is ideal for the predator hunter, tactical marksmen, or anyone that needs a compact, light medium range night vision rifle scope.

I am the proud owner of an Armasight Nemesis 4x QS night vision riflescope. It was purchased after an unfortunate failure of a competitor’s Gen 1+ hardware to perform under a live fire situation in which the first round muzzle flash caused a total loss of vision and target awareness. By the time even marginal function was restored there was no chance to re-engage the target. Since owning the Nemesis for a little over a week I have fired 40 or so rounds of 5.56 M193 NATO ammunition thru an AR-15 under daylight conditions with the lens cover in place to sight in the weapon and verify that the Nemesis retains Zero after repeated removal and reattachment to the weapon. It performed flawlessly. The Nemesis was then used to acquire a target at 50 yards under darkness with overcast clouds and a quarter moon. No IR illumination was required or used and the AR-15 equipped with a standard A2 “muzzle brake” fired 3 rounds rapid fire on target with absolutely no muzzle flash observed. No interruption or degradation of visual contact or image quality could be detected. Operation of the weapon at this range under night time conditions was no more difficult than firing in daylight with an appropriate day scope. I had unlimited visual ability to acquire targets well in excess of 150 yards. As purely a matter of personal taste, I find the QS gray/black imaging to be much easier to view and interpret details within the field of regard as compared to using a green/black display. I have joined an open air gun range that will soon allow night time testing of night vision capable weapons at ranges from 25 to 200 yards. After firing several hundred rounds under various degrees of darkness and weather I expect to be even more pleased with my Nemesis 4x QS and its ability to bring the AR-15 onto target.
